General FAQ's

  1. Can I upgrade or downgrade package at any time?

    Yes, you can upgrade to a bigger package, or downgrade to a smaller package at any time. Ensure that your monthly data usage (please contact us if you are unsure) is less than that of your new package, e.g if your monthly traffic is 2 000Mb, it is not possible to downgrade to a package that offers 600Mb. Please feel free to contact us, if you would like to change your package, or discuss which package would best suit your needs.

  2. Does ParkHost offer a money back guarantee?

    ParkHost offers you a 30-day money back guarantee. If you sign up for hosting with us, and you do not like our service in the first 30 days from signup, we will give you, your money back, with no questions asked.

  3. Is there any minimum signup time, or contract periods?

    No, ParkHost has no minimum signup time, or contract periods. If you wish to terminate your web hosting service, you are free to do so at any time.

E-mail FAQ's

  1. What is an e-mail alias?

    An e-mail alias is an address that gets forwarded to your main e-mail address, e.g if you have main@example.com as your main e-mail address, all your aliases will be delivered to the main@example.com inbox.

  2. How many aliases my I have?

    With ParkHost you may have as many e-mail aliases as you need.

  3. What is e-mail forwarding?

    This refers to a process where e-mail is automatically forwarded to another e-mail address. This is very useful if you have multiple e-mail addresses, and would like them to be delivered to one inbox.

  4. Does ParkHost offer e-mail forwarding?

    Yes, we do offer e-mail forwarding. Please contact us if you would like to make use of this service.

  5. What is Auto Responder?

    An auto responder is an e-mail that will automatically respond to anyone who send you an e-mail. E.g if you are out of the office, your auto responder will notify anyone who sends you an e-mail, that you received their e-mail, but you are currently not in the office.

  6. Can I change my e-mail password?

    Yes, you may change your password at any time. Please contact us if you would like to change your e-mail address.

  7. Is there a limit to how much e-mail I can store?

    Your e-mails, if not downloaded, will take up disk space on the server. Once this has accumulated to a large amount, you will exceed your allocated dik space. We recommend that you use an e-mail application, such as Microsoft Outlook, or Mail for Mac, to handle e-mails. If you use web bases e-mail, such as Mozilla Thunderbird or Webmail, please ensure that you delete your e-mails from the server. You are able to back up your e-mail, if you do not want to risk losing any e-mails.

  8. What is the maximum size of e-mail I can send?

    We currently limit e-mails at 20 MB.

  9. What is a "Catch-all" Mailbox?

    In the event where an e-mail is sent to an unknown address at your domain, the "catch-all" e-mail address will receive that message. Any e-mail account, which is already set up, may be used as a "catch-all" mailbox. This is not advisable, however, as it will mainly receive spam e-mail.

  10. Do you have Spam protection?

    Yes, ParkHost follows the best industry practices to prevent spam.

Hosting FAQ's

  1. What is a domain?

    A domain, or web domain, is the space where your website will be stored on a server, making it accessible to the public.

  2. What is WHOIS?

    WHOIS is a very large database containing all the details of domain names, their owners and their contact details.

  3. What is a registrar?

    This is the body who manages domain extensions, e.g, the CO ZA Registrar manages all domains ending with .co.za

  4. What is a registrant?

    Also known as Name Holder. This is the person, or company, that owns a certain domain name.

  5. How to change domain name?

    Your domain name cannot be changed. If you wish to have another domain name, and it is available, you will have to register that domain name.

  6. Why do I need a domain?

    You will need a domain in order to display your website. Your domain will "house" your website.

  7. How to register a domain?

    If you do not already have a domain registered, ParkHost will register it for you. Click here to register your domain name and follow the simple steps.

  8. What is a domain transfer?

    This is the process where your domain gets transferred from one web host to another, e.g if you have a web hosting company who hosts your website, but you want another web hosting company to take it over.

  9. Can I transfer to ParkHost?

    Yes, ParkHost will handle the transfer on your behalf for free.

  10. What is disk space?

    Also know as "Web space". This is the amount of data storage on our servers that is available for your use, this includes your website, e-mails etc.

  11. Is my website backed up?

    Daily back ups are made on all our servers. Not only your website is backed up, but all your MySQL databases on the server is backed up as well.

  12. For how long are back ups kept?

    Backups are kept for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two weeks.

  13. How to cancel account?

    If you no longer need your domain or hosting service, you can cancel your ParkHost account by contacting us.

  14. How do i access my webmail?

    You can log on to your webmail from anywhere in the world to receive e-mails. Simply click on our Webmail Login link and enter your username and password. If you do not have your username and password, please contact us and we will send you, your login details.

  15. What is data transfer?

    Also know as "Bandwidth". This is any inbound or outbound traffic from your domain such as visits to your website, e-mails and FTP.

  16. How does domain renewals work?

    The registrar requires every domain to be renewed on an annual basis. ParkHost will automatically renew your domain, on your behalf, unless you have ordered us not renew your domain. This will result in your domain being available to others for purchase.

  17. When will my account be activated?

    Your account will be activated within 24 hours after we have received your proof of payment.

  18. What is FTP?

    File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a method used to exchange files between a computer, and a server, over the internet.
